2002 Donations

The Committee thanks the following people for getting involved in our fund-raising efforts:

A $600 donation was received from James and Garcia Alston and daughters Melanie and Alisa who both graduated from HHS. Through the kindness and generosity of Richard and Mary Gelber of Clinton Place in Hackensack, $2,812 was raised through the Clinton Place Halloween Project. They donated $500, as well as the use of their home. We are very grateful to Rich and Mary for their efforts on behalf of the scholarship fund. Thanks also go to Susan Plump of Plump Bros. who donated many thousands of American Flag stickers valued at close to $500. These stickers were given out at the Gelber home during the Halloween festivities. The stickers surely added to the success of the fundraising effort. A $100 donation was received from Carol Fishberg a former Guidance Counselor and French teacher. General Donation by Maria Costa.

The committee also thanks Officer Lance Kelly of the South Hackensack Police Department for his hard work on the Ad Journal. Lance was instrumental in obtaining many of the ads which will appear in the book.

Hackensack High School Choral Director Garcia Alston and her husband hosted a house warming to celebrate the purchase of a new home. In lieu of gifts for their new home, the Alstons asked that their guests donate to the Blue and Gold Scholarship Fund. What a great idea! We received a donation of $500 as a result of this event.

The family of Frank C. Pisano, former HHS Italian teacher, has asked that donations be made in his memory to the Blue and Gold Scholarship. We offer our condolences to the family on Mr. Pisano's recent death. It is fitting that a man who was so much a part of the lives of his students should be honored in such a special way.

The Committee would like to thank Roger Maggio and his staff at WebmasterUSA for their continued support. Our Domain Name and these web pages are a result of Roger's generosity and his staff's hard work!
