Announcing
the Sanzari Challenge!
David and Joni Sanzari have made the following pledge: Beginning on March 1, 2004 and ending on December 31, 2004, they will match DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR all contributions made to the Blue and Gold Scholarship Fund up to a maximum of $100,000.
We need your help to make this challenge a success. Please contact Ed Acciardi with your ideas or your own generous contribution. If we can take full advantage of this opportunity, we will be half way to our goal of raising $1,000,000 for scholarships for Hackensack students.
A huge thank you also goes to HHS graduate Henry Amoroso who has pledged $25,000 to the Blue and Gold Scholarship Fund over the next two years! (Unfortunately, this was prior to the announcement of the matching challenge.)
We know that the "Spirit of the Comets" is alive and well when HHS graduates are grateful enough to make wonderful donations of money, time and talent in order to help our students reach their educational goals. The generosity shown by Hackensack graduates is amazing. It is great commentary on the Blue and Gold spirit which we will forever carry in our hearts!
Thank you also to Annette Miello, Fran Borg and the entire Blue and Gold Committee for making the Beefsteak Dinner a huge success! We made a profit of $27,000. This was realized through monies received from the ad journal, raffle, 50/50, ticket sales and donations. Thanks also to all those who attended. The Blue and Gold spirit was really in evidence on that special evening!
